Rodger Lee - Trumpet   

Rodger has enjoyed an interesting and versatile career as a freelance trumpeter in and around New York City for over 20 years. He has performed with several modern orchestras including The New York Virtuosi, West End Symphony, The New York Ragtime Orchestra, Westchester Broadway Theater, and The American Chamber Orchestra. His Broadway credits include Wonderful Town, Assassins, The Frogs, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Kiss Me Kate, Putting it Together, Bells Are Ringing, Peter Pan, Flower Drum Song, and Les Miserable for over eight years.

  Rodger has performed on natural trumpet with several period instrument groups: Strings of Lafayette (Washington D.C.), Philadelphia Classical Symphony, Centenary Festival Orchestra (The Big Gig, Richmond Virginia), Ars Antiqua Ensemble, the Harmonium Chamber Singers (New Jersey), Consort Royal (New York), American Classical Orchestra (New York), Connecticut Early Music Society, Clarino Consort and Trinity Consort (Oregon). His trumpet ensemble, entitled "Royal Brass" has performed several thousand affairs in the tri-state area in the past 13 years.

  As a recording artist he has produced his own albums such as New American Trumpet Sonatas and Ceremonial Wedding Music. Mr. Lee also is on the Broadway recording of Scarlet Pimpernel as well as soloist on a Christian recording entitled The Way of Life. He has a bachelor's degree in trumpet performance from SUNY Purchase, a master's degree from CUNY Brooklyn College, and has finished the course work towards his doctorate at CUNY Graduate School and University Center. At CUNY Brooklyn College Mr. Lee taught music courses and was assistant conductor of the Wind Ensemble. He now teaches at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University as adjunct professor of trumpet and is the Director of both the college brass ensemble and faculty brass quintet entitled "Long Island Brassworks."
