Ryan Resky - Trumpet
Ryan Resky has performed as a freelance trumpeter across the country, including performances for Broadway Musicals,(Chicago, The Full Monty, Kiss Me, Kate) as well as various artists (including Bobby Vinton, John Pizzarelli, Jane Monheit, Harloyn Blackwell, etc,) symphony orchestras, and in wind, brass, and jazz ensembles. He has most recently appeared on the Today Show for the Freedom of the Seas (Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines) Inaugural Celebration, which aired live on NBC, May 11, 1006 at 8:30am.
Ryan was also featured on Episode 70 of HBO's The Soprano's as a wedding band performer and musical arranger, which aired on April 9th, 2006. On May 6th, Ryan was the featured soloist with the Big Apple Corps Band performing the Arutunian Trumpet Concerto.
Born on August 10th, 1978 in Denver, CO, Ryan grew up in Lindenhurst, NY. While in high school, he performed as Principal Trumpet in the Gemini Youth Orchestra for 3 years and was also Principal Trumpet of both the All-County Orchestra and the All-State Symphonic Band during his senior year. Before graduating, Ryan received the highest musical honor in his school district for a graduating senior: the Arion Music Award.
Ryan attended the New England Conservatory from 1996-1998 and the Brooklyn College-Conservatory of Music from 1999-2005. While at Brooklyn College, Ryan performed Principal Trumpet with the Conservatory Orchestra and was the Winner of the 2001 Concerto competition performing the Hadyn Concerto. He also appeared as soloist with the orchestra on several other occasions performing the Hummel Concerto, Shostikovitch Concerto for Trumpet, Piano, and Strings, Bach's Second Brandenburg Concerto, and Vivaldi's Concerto for Two Trumpets. In addition to the orchestra, Ryan was 1st/Solo Trumpet with the brass ensemble as well as guest conductor, Principal Trumpet of the Wind Ensemble, lead trumpet/soloist with the jazz band and also soloist with the Marimba Quartet.
In the summer of 2004, Ryan toured for 10 days with the Brooklyn College Brass Ensemble in Germany as part of the International Brass Symposium. He also enjoyed a final performance in Karlsruhe with the Musik Hochschule brass ensemble.

Ryan's musical career has led him to many other exciting performances including traveling the country with the premier racetrack buglers of the U.S., the All-Star Buglers. He has performed at the Belmont Stakes, Breeders Cup, the Hambeltonian, Florida Derby, Ohio Derby, Pennsylvania Derby and many others as well as the Assistant Bugler at Aqueduct Racetrack and Belmont Park in NY. Many of these performances were broadcast on CBS, NBC, ABC and ESPN. While substituting at Aqueduct in 2006, Mr. Resky was honored in an interview for a FOX Sports segment, Inside Racing: A Closer Look, hosted by Jan Rushton.
